Flexibility plays a huge role in maximizing your strength and minimizing your risk of injury. One of my favorite resources is Kelly Starrett’s Mobility WOD site. Here are some of the key stretches that I do to prepare for and recover from my weightlifting and CrossFit workouts. Note that I talk about doing these stretches the night before performing the lift the next day. That is intentional. Doing static stretches and too much stretching right before you lift can hurt your performance. So, do these stretches to prepare the night before and keep working on your flexibility.
